Are you confused by the options on the Manage Your Design screen? If so, let's go through them one by one ...

Teaser Button vs. Widget

The teaser button is the small tab appearing at the side of your screen that a customer clicks to open the PartFinder tool.

The widget is the search screen that opens when the teaser button is clicked.

Widget Type: Fullscreen or Compact

Both the Fullscreen and Compact widgets are responsive and will work on mobile devices.
The Fullscreen widget is a large display format ideal for desktop searches, but resizes to accommodate various screen sizes. Fullscreen can be customized to include your logo or other image before search results are shown.

The Compact widget is a small format that allows most of your website screen to remain visible in the background.

The following setting choices can be seen live as they are chosen in the Widget Design screen. If you are unsure of their function, simply test different choices to see the result.

Horizontal Alignment

Horizontal Alignment indicates which side of the screen the widget will appear on: the left side or the right side.

Vertical Alignment

Vertical Alignment indicates which section of the screen the widget will appear on: upper, middle, lower, or bottom.

Button Teaser Text

The Button Teaser Text is the text that shows on the tab before the tab is clicked. It's the text that draws your customer's attention to the PartFinder tool. For display purposes, it's best to keep this text short. For example: Search Here, Find a Part, Find Wheels, etc.

Widget Heading

The Widget Heading is the title text appears at the top of the widget screen when the teaser button is clicked. The text could be the same as the teaser button, or completely different, but it's wise to keep this text short as well.

Dropdown Select Text

This is the text that will appear in each of your search fields on the widget. This text prompts the user to click inside the box to type in a search term or choose from the available options.

Results Text

This is the heading text that will appear in the window when all fields have been completed. For example, Search Results, Tire Match, Ta-Da! etc.

Adding a background image takes your widget to the next level. This feature is ideal for helping the widget stand out from your page, and can also add a branding element. When selecting a background image for your compact widget, use a portrait (vertical) orientation for best results. For fullscreen, use a landscape (horizontal) orientation. Simply type in (or cut & paste) the address of the image on your computer.

Misc. Widget Settings

Open links in: allows you to determine whether the search result to appear in a New Browser Tab or the Same Tab. This is a matter of preference, but choosing New Browser Tab allows the user to perform multiple searches with different search criteria.
